FAQs
This is the case of đ” Hobby vs Professional Sound & Wellness Practitioners
It matters more than people realise because in the wellness world, sound healing and energetic work have become beautifully popular. More people are exploring gongs, bowls, tuning forks, meditation & energy work than ever beforeâwhich is wonderful - but with this rise has come a growing confusion. So what is the difference between a hobbyist and a professional practitioner, and does it really matter?
đ±Â 1. A Hobbyist Shares What They Love - Hobbyists bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and passion. They experiment, explore, and enjoy the experience of sound. Their sessions may feel relaxing, creative, or funâbut theyâre not designed with therapeutic intention or clinical awareness. Thereâs nothing wrong with this but itâs not the same as professional practice.
đżÂ 2. Professional practitioners are trained in anatomy, the nervous system, traumaâinformed practice, safeguarding, contraindications, and session pacing. They work within ethical frameworks, hold insurance, and adapt sessions for emotional, sensory, and neurodivergent needs. A professional doesnât just âting a bowlâ, the facilitate a regulated, intentional, therapeutic process.
đ¶Â 3. Sound Is Powerful and Power Requires Skill - Sound can soothe, but it can also overstimulate and destabilise the central nervous system. It can release emotions, but it can also surface memories people arenât prepared for. Professionals know how to support emotional release safely, avoid triggers and how to work with vulnerable groups.
đ 4. Clients Deserve Clarity, Safety, and Skill - People often seek sound healing when theyâre
burnt out / anxious / grieving / neurodivergent / recovering from trauma / overwhelmed by life.
These individuals need more than a pleasant experience. They need someone who understands the nervous system, sensory load, emotional processing, and how to hold a safe therapeutic space.
đ 5. Both have Valueâbut theyâre not interchangeable.
Hobbyists enrich the community. Professionals support healing.
Both are welcome. Both are needed.
But they serve different purposes and clients should know which one theyâre choosing to make the right choice for them.
âšÂ Sound work is beautiful, powerful, and transformative. When delivered professionally, it becomes a therapeutic modality that supports deep regulation, emotional release, and longâterm wellbeing.

Your therapist will advise on this, but to gain the most benefit from any of our treatments, drink plenty of mineral water (not from the tap) to help flush away toxins.
Keep hydrated for 24 hours
Avoid alcohol for at least 24hours
Be easy on yourself; take it easy and allow your body to continue to adjust
Rooted in the relationship between muscles, the nervous system, and the energetic pathways of the body, kinesiology uses muscle testing as a feedback tool. This allows practitioners to identify where stress is stored, where communication has broken down, and what the body needs to return to balance for optimla health. We can he make the relevent adjustments and offer lifestyle changes for continual improvement.
Bioâenergetic testing (also know as Bioresoance) is a nonâinvasive method used in complementary medicine, that assess the bodyâs âenergetic signatureâ and identify potential imbalances or stress patterns. It does not diagnose medical conditions, but it aims to give insight into how the body is responding to physical, emotional, or environmental stressors.
Itâs based on the concept that the body has an electromagnetic or subtle energy field. Every cell, organ, and system emits measurable frequencies. Imbalances in these frequencies may reflect stress or dysfunction before physical symptoms appear.
This framework draws from quantum physics, Traditional Chinese Medicine (meridians), and modern electrodermal technologies.
Electrodermal Screening (EAV / EDS) uses a lowâvoltage electrical circuit, created by holding 2 copper probes - this creates what we call your baseline reading. The Asyra device introduces âenergetic signaturesâ of substances (foods, toxins, nutrients) and observes how the body responds. We then interpret changes in readings as indicators of stress or imbalance.
Hair & Saliva can also be analysed - We scan these for stored energetic information at a cellular level. Our software analyses patterns related to toxins, pathogens, hormones, nutrients, emotional stress, and organ function. These methods aim to reveal subtle stressors that may not show up on conventional tests. This enable us to remote test clients.
There are so many things, but in summary;
Environmental or chemical toxin exposure
Food sensitivities
Hormonal or nutrient imbalances
Pathogens (mold, viruses, parasites)
Organ stress patterns
Emotional or energetic disruptions
Immediate response data
đđ¶ I often get asked âwhat is a sound bathâ, as the name suggests music, water and an a bath but that couldnât be further from the truth. Itâs a metaphor for âbathing our bodies in sound and frequency. There is no bath, no water and you donât get wet - could you imagine the mess!Â
âšA sound bath is a deeply relaxing, meditative experience where you lie down on a mat, under a warm blanet, and you are immersed in soothing sound vibrations from instruments such as crystal bowls, gongs, chimes, and gentle percussion. Unlike a traditional âbath,â thereâs no water involved â the term refers to being bathed in layers of calming sound.
During a sound bath, the nervous system shifts into a state of rest and repair. The frequencies help quiet the mind, release tension held in the body, and create a sense of spaciousness and emotional ease. You donât need any experience or special skills; you simply get comfortable, breathe, and let the sound guide you into a restorative state.
đ âA sound bath isnât just an experience â itâs a gift to your nervous system, your mind, and your whole being.â
âA sound bath is an invitation to pause â to step out of the noise of everyday life and into a space where your nervous system can finally exhale.â
When you attend a sound bath, youâre giving yourself a rare kind of rest - a deeper, more restorative reset that works on the mind, body, and emotional landscape all at once.
âšÂ 1. It calms the nervous system - The gentle frequencies from instruments like crystal bowls, gongs, and chimes help guide your body out of fightâorâflight and into a state of safety. This shift alone can support better sleep, reduced anxiety, and a clearer mind.
đżÂ 2. It creates space for emotional release - Sound has a way of reaching places that words canât. Many people find that tension, overwhelm, or old emotional residue begins to soften and move â without needing to âdoâ anything.
𧠠3. It quiets the mind - If your thoughts tend to race, or you struggle to switch off, a sound bath gives your mind something soothing to focus on. The result is often a sense of clarity, spaciousness, and mental lightness.
đ«Â 4. It reconnects you with your body - The vibrations help you drop back into yourself â your breath, your heartbeat, your inner rhythm. This is especially supportive if youâre neurodivergent, highly sensitive, or often feel overstimulated.
đ 5. Itâs a safe, held environment - You donât need any experience. You simply lie down, get comfortable, and let the sound do the work. The space is held for you with care, grounding, and traumaâinformed awareness.
đșÂ 6. Itâs a moment of pure nourishment
In a world that constantly asks you to give, a sound bath gives something back. Itâs a gentle reset â a way to return to yourself, refill your energy, and leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more centred.
đ âA sound bath isnât just an experience â itâs a gift to your nervous system, your mind, and your whole being.â
Sound is non-evasive and natural, and there are no known side effects. As with most things, people react and respond to Sound Therapy in very individual ways. Most people experience a deep state of relaxation that they cannot achieve at home. Some find it helps them connect to the universe and their guardian angels.
â
Some people who have physical or emotional blockages to clear, may experience a wave of emotion,
cold symptoms, tiredness, or headaches, during or after a sound therapy session. Any short term and minor adverse effects are a good thing as itâs a sign that you have moved negative energy from your body or bio-field.
There are no know contraindication of sound. It's advised not to particiate in your first trimester, as this is generally a high risk time. We see clients in the second and third trimester of pregnancy. For comfort, in the third tri-mester you may want to sit against a wall or on a chair, rather than lay down. You can ask for a chair when you book your event, or bring some extra pillows to use against a wall.
We have had experience with clients with tinnitus. Whilst sound healing is considered safe for most people, tinnitus can be unpredictable but that doesn't mean you can't experience it with some thought.
Volume: It's best to lie furthest from the sound, and near a door if you need to move around or leave. This way, you can control your exposure to louder sounds of you were too have a reaction.
Bring in-ear earplugs: This can soften louder peaks without blocking everything, helping you enjoy the experience while protecting your ears. Your body will still absorb the frequencies so you still get cellular benefit too.
Track Your Responses: Note how your tinnitus feels before and after the session. Keeping a journal can help you identify patterns and determine what types of sounds are beneficial for you.
If you would like an exploratory session at our clinic to see how you react, we are open to this. Bring the earplugs and we can try the sounds with and without.
