Sound therapy (also referred to as sound baths) help to facilitate shifts in our brainwave state by using entrainment. Entrainment synchronizes our fluctuating brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwave can attune to. By using rhythm and frequency, we can entrain our brainwaves and it then becomes possible to down-shift our normal beta state to alpha.  Many reach theta (meditative state) and delta (sleep; where internal healing can occur).

What will the session look like?

In a 1-1 session, your therapist will discuss any physical or emotional concerns you may have, with a view to addressing them in your session.

Your sound therapy session is an opportunity to unwind and de-stress.  You don't have to do anything other than to lay down, get comfy under a fluffly blanket, close your eyes and allow your body to absorb and bathe in the sounds and vibrations being played, shifting any energetic blockages. Everything in the world is made up of sound and vibration, including you, and sound can bring you back into harmony and a state of homeostatis, balancing your energy, the physical body and the mind.

Your session begins with some gentle breathing techniques, enhanced by aromatherapy oils for deeper realxation, which helps your mind and body to relax. Your therapist will guide you through a 10/15 minute meditation, where you can set an intention for your sound journey, whilst helping your heart rate reduce further and aiding your subconscious brain to fall into alpha mode, a deep state of wakeful realxation.

Your sound therapist will create a safe space for you to experience a feeling of deep relaxion, whilst you, your mind and your body enjoys the clearing and rejuvenating effects of both voice and instruments from all around the world. Everyones experience with sound is very different, as your body will take what it needs at the time.  Regardless of what this looks like for you, the sound should take you on beautiful journey of the mind and universe.  You may reach a state of theta or delta at this point of the session, and fall into a deep meditation or sleep.

The final part of the session will end with just the soothing sound of rain.  This is your time to allow your body to relax and settle into the energy that may have been shifted.  Your therapist will bring you gently back into consciousness with some soft energising aromatherapy oils, where a nice crystal glass of cold water awaits you, ready for when you are back in the room.

 

You will be asked about the oils we use at the beggining of your session.  If you have any concerns about the oils, please let us know and we can supplement the oil type or not use them, at your request.
